To the left of the portrait, the signature "CAT" is visible. This is the signature of the artist who created the miniature. There is a defect in the frame.

Subject: The miniature depicts a female portrait in Regency or Empire style (early 19th century)

Materials and Execution: Miniatures of this type  were hand-painted and placed in elegant frames. In this case, an oval portrait in a golden frame is mounted on a decorative base.

This miniature may date from the late 19th - early 20th century, around the 1930s.
