Antique 1920s German Porcelain Vase from Sorau Carstens Porzellan Factory

Good condition with no visible damage, no chips, and no cracks.

Design: The item is crafted in the characteristic style of the 1920s — 1930s. The porcelain color is a warm “ivory” (Elfenbein), adorned with gilded floral decor featuring roses.

Features of the Mark and Item

Manufacturer: The porcelain factory in Sorau (now Żary, Poland), owned by the Carstens family (C. & E. Carstens).

Period: This type of mark was used between 1918 and approximately 1945.

Style: Items from this period are often made in the Art Deco style.

Material: Porcelain characteristic of this factory, in a noble ivory color (elfenbein).

History: The Sorau brand was very popular in the first half of the 20th century. After World War II, when the city became part of Poland, the factory ceased to exist as a German enterprise. For this reason, items with the Sorau mark are highly valued by antique collectors.
