This vintage plate belongs to the "Virginia Rose" collection. This series was very popular and was produced from the 1930s to the 1960s.

It is in good condition, with no visible damage, chips, or cracks.

Shape: The characteristic shape of the "Virginia Rose" is distinguished by a prominent, wavy rim and an embossed border.

Decoration: The plate depicts bouquets of flowers with a dominant pink rose in the center, surrounded by smaller blue, yellow, and purple blossoms and green leaves.

Ornamentation: The rim is often decorated with a platinum or gold trim.

The "Victoria ST" mark belongs to the Schmidt & Co. porcelain manufactory / Victoria porcelain factory, founded in 1883 in Altrolau (now Stará Role, Czech Republic), Bohemia, which was then part of the Austrian Empire.

 Manufacturer Information

Establishment: The company was founded in 1883 as Lazarus & Rosenfeld GmbH in Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad).

Ownership: In 1885, the factory was acquired by Franz Schmidt and renamed Victoria Schmidt & Co. Porcelain Factory.

Period of the Hallmark: Hallmarks with "Victoria" and "ST" (likely an abbreviation of the street/town name or part of a name) without "Austria" or "Carlsbad" can generally be attributed to specific periods. However, the history of the mark spans the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

History thereafter: After 1918, when the region became part of Czechoslovakia, the mark "Victoria China Czechoslovakia" appeared on the products. In 1945, the factory was nationalized.

This mark identifies antique Austrian porcelain with collector value.
