Christofle, France (1900–1925).

An extremely rare antique serving set by the legendary French manufactory Christofle, dating from the early 20th century. Complete sets of this kind, preserved in full and with the original branded case, are exceptionally scarce.

The set includes:

— a large serving spoon, 28 cm in length, with a natural horn handle and a silver-plated bowl; the horn shows a minor old surface flaw that does not affect structural integrity;

— a serving fork, 28 cm in length, with a horn handle, in excellent condition;

— a rare fully silver-plated gigot holder (leg of lamb holder), 22 cm in length, belonging to early Christofle models of the early 20th century, preserved in excellent condition.

The original case, measuring 37 cm in length and 15 cm in width, retains its well-preserved velvet interior with gold embossing “Christofle & Cie – Manufacture Française.” Both clasps are fully functional, opening and closing securely. The upper part of the case, with its original covering and the owner’s initials, has survived in a presentable condition; the lower part has lost its outer covering, revealing the original wooden base — a natural trace of more than a century of age.

All items bear original Christofle maker’s marks.

The handles are made of natural horn in a characteristic amber tone, with beautiful natural texture.

A rare and completely original antique set from the Belle Époque / early Art Deco period, almost never encountered in such composition and condition.
